It's good to be home

Hospital schedule:

Sleep?  What's that?

Was woken at 3 AM both mornings.  Change in nurse shifts.  And then of course they want to chat.....at 3 AM?  Really?

5 AM lab comes in to suck blood.  I am a hard stick (that's what she said), and so the whole "we only need one tube of blood" thing took an hour each time.  Finally they drew from my wrist.  Painful.

6 AM doctor comes in.  How are you feeling?  Oh, you're tired?  I wonder why?

6:30 AM "hospitalist" doctor comes in.  Asks same questions that 6 AM doctor asked.

6:45 AM nurse comes in to check vitals.  Blood sugar check.

7 AM "have you ordered breakfast?" "you need to order breakfast" "have you eaten yet?"

Mark came to get me at 10 AM.  I didn't even shower, just wanted OUT.  Came home, showered, went to sleep.  And no one bothered me!  It was wonderful!

Restrictions again, no lifting over 10 lbs, for, like, ever.  On new antibiotic.  More scans next week.  As long as I can sleep in peace, I don't care.

Oh, the end results were inconclusive.  I seem to be getting these pockets of blood around right kidney.  They can take a sample but would almost guarantee I will get an infection.  So, no idea how to stop this from happening.  No answers.  Yay.

  2. You don't go to the hospital to sleep silly girl! That's what I'd have to tell my patients.
