Questions. Ask questions.
We received yet another bill for about $300 in the mail this weekend. I called our insurance company because I KNEW we had already paid $2600 out of pocket.
In the midst of trying to find out why we owed the $300, we found that they had billed my doctor in the hospital as out of network. And so, they have asked us not to pay the newest bill because "there appears to be many screw ups in our billing", and we might be receiving almost the entire $600 back that was billed as out of network, because he is NOT out of network.
Had I NOT questioned our insurance company, we would have paid the $300 charge and might never have seen the total of almost $900 that they owe us!
And the moral of this story? Always question. And we're 100% paid and any medical supplies and services are now free until December!
