Yesterday was rainy AND a Monday!

The Carpenters vinyl record was one of the first I owned and is still one of my favorites.  As children, we used to play the album and dance.  As a child, I thought they were such a romantic couple.  As an adult, I thought that the thought of this brother and sister being a romantic couple was quite sick.

Does anyone else just feel like going back to bed and pulling the covers over your head on rainy dark dreary days?

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit, nothin' ever seems to fit
Hangin' around, nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong, feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around, some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny, but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me
(The one who loves me)

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out

(Talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do
(Only thing to do)
Run and find the one who loves me

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
(Talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

  1. Great song. And yes, some days I feel like pulling the covers over my head!

  2. There are more days than is like to admit that I'd like to hang out under the covers and hide from the world. I love The Carpenters - I bought a huge compilation album on CD and love to listen to it... To my husband's dismay. :)
